Description
For offer; a green Dyottville Glass Works squat porter beer bottle. It was blown in medium-green glass batch into a two-part private mold and finished with an applied double-taper lip in the 1860's. This was recovered from a Philadelphia privy excavation in the last year. It is in good dug condition with no major issues. One inner lip sliver inside the reverse taper top as seen in the images. This was likely done with an ice pick pry opening. It is stable with no radiations, cracks or further problems. Displays well. Otherwise, it shows light use wear and very mild interior hazing. Good color and nice vertical stretch bubbles in the neck area. " A " -embossed on the base. It has several small potstones near the frontal heel as seen. A nice bright and clean Dyott porter. It measures 6 11/16" x 2 11/16"+.
